Bingo Night

It's a party to enjoy playing Bingo games. Purchase a Bingo card before entering the event venue. The higher the number, the higher the probability of winning

Open House

It is the day of class visit. My friends' moms and dads also come to see us regardless of grade. I enter quietly and leave in about 15 minutes, but I concentrate on the lesson without worrying about it.

Sports day

It is an athletic meet. Unlike Japanese schools, I only practice athletic meet a little. The focus is on competitions that can be done without practice.

Excursion (Field Trip)

On the excursion, a chaperon is called and parents accompany them until the lower grades of elementary school. Parents participate in various events, not limited to excursions.

Food Fair

There is an event where parents of friends from different countries cook and eat their own country's food. The Japanese booth is mainly yakitori, yakisoba, rice balls, grilled corn, and shaved ice, but sushi may be served depending on the season. Please see here for reference.

Drama Festival

When learning about drama in class, we will study until the demonstration and present it in the auditorium.

Book Week

Express the book you read with a hat and parade.

Speech Contest

We will present the decided poems and the essays we wrote in the auditorium.

International Day

Children wear their own national costumes and go to school. In the case of Japanese people, kimono and yukata are often seen depending on the season.

Achievement test

Standardized Achievement Tests:

You cannot easily study for this exam. Daily efforts are important.
Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)

Stanford Achievement Test (SAT)

California Achievement Test (CAT)

California Achievement Test (CAT / 5)

Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS)

Third Step: Prepare for the subject "English" which is the most different from Japan

Phonics

When you can read and draw the alphabet, you will study how to read words. At this time, I will study phonics. You will be able to read and write by studying your child.

Spelling

Learn the spelling of the words you need for your grade.

Reading

Most schools use Oxford Reading tree materials as supplementary readers. It is important to study from a level that suits your academic ability.

Language Arts

Although it is a subject called grammar, it is not very familiar in Japanese elementary schools. I will study after I become able to read. There are Language Arts textbooks from the first grade of elementary school.

Fourth Step: How to play with friends

Play Date

Parental consent is always required when making a play appointment with a friend. Except for the daily routine, we always need the consent of our parents. Unlike Japan, children cannot decide on each other.

Birthday party

I enjoy calling a lot of friends until the second grade of elementary school. After that, it will be done so that the children who have transferred to the school can get to know everyone quickly.

KISに通わせていただけて本当によかったと日々実感しています。

今でもKISのお友達や先生は元気かな、とよく思い出していて、
カードも大切に飾っています。
またみんなに会える日を楽しみに、
Sydneyで過ごしたいと思います。
